BOOK REVIEW

"Thinking Outside the Cubicle"
by Norman J. Meshriy

"Thinking Outside the Cubicle" outlines steps aimed to drive you beyond your current position toward a more fulfilling job that meets your goals.

A career counselor, Norman Meshriy urges his readers to periodically assess their career paths.  His book has its roots in his experience in counseling and in the jobs in which he has worked.  The book proposes that you implement a career "business plan" based on your values and strengths.  He offers assistance for writing one in the initial section.

In the second part of the book Mershriy discusses tools for trying new approaches to change an unsatisfying job into one that is rewarding and uplifting.

The final section offers advice on refining your plan and offers techniques for implementing the steps that could allow you to realize your job of the future.  The author's motto seems to be, "You are the key."  Your success depends on who you are and what you do with your unique capabilities and your aspirations for your future.
